Odoo Automation, Azure Integration & Linux Server Administration

Challenge

The problem

Client needed a senior Odoo DevOps engineer to configure automation workflows, integrate with Azure cloud services, and stabilize their Linux server infrastructure after previous failed attempts.

Constraints
  • Previous attempts by other contractors had already failed, so the starting point was an unstable environment rather than a clean build
  • The Odoo instance ran on Odoo.sh, which limits what can be changed at the infrastructure layer
  • Azure services and the Odoo instance had to stay in sync without anyone remembering to trigger it
Approach

How we ran it

  1. Audit of the existing Odoo.sh setup and the Linux servers around it before changing anything, so we knew what had been left half-finished
  2. Automation workflows rebuilt inside Odoo rather than as external scripts, so the logic lives where the data does and survives an upgrade
  3. Azure integration wired to run unattended, with failure visible instead of silent
  4. Server-side tuning and cleanup on the Linux hosts, then verification under production load rather than on an idle box
